Little Channels near Chelmsford Essex was the well chosen venue for Lisa and Paul’s summer wedding. It was my first time working there and I expected it to be very much like Channels which it was but only more intimate and with the same friendly feel.

An exciting day for Sam & Matt as they saw all their wedding plans come to fruition. The day started at Sam’s Nan’s house in Romford where all the girls got ready. Sam was very proud of her nails, which she informed me had taken 5 hours to do , they looked amazing, like a work of art. As this is what Sam does for a living it was very important to her that they were right so we took lots of bridal preparation photos featuring them.

Korina and Steven wanted ‘just a hint’ of Star Wars’ as their theme, it made me smile when they chose their wedding date May 4th (may the 4th be with you…) and I was fully expecting some costumes and maybe 1 or 2 light sabres, however, apart from the cake which included the Millennium Falcon in its icing everything else was quite traditional. Korina and Steven decided to get married at Southend Registry Office and have their reception at the Park View Suite, in Chalkwell Park.
Every now & then I get to work in a stunning venue, a fairy tale place providing amazing backdrops for my wedding photography, Spains Hall in Finchingfield is one of those venues. It is situated on the Essex/Cambridge border and has been a family home since 1086 and still is to this day. In the middle of a 2,000 acre estate it would be hard to find a better setting for a wedding.

Laura and Richard chose Prittlewell Priory for their wedding, it was a late wedding and we were very lucky with the weather, not too cold and nice even light. Prittlewell Priory is a great choice for a wedding ceremony, steeped in history, a medieval priory set in the heart of one of Southend most beautiful parks – Priory Park. The formal gardens are carefully tended and there is a vast choice of areas in which to capture lovely images of the couple and their guests.

Recently I was privileged to be part of Isabella and James wedding day. As soon as I met the family they made me feel welcome with their warmth and friendliness. We had our meetings, planned the shots we were going to take and of course, once I’d spotted that they had doggies, realised that they would have to be a part of it too, so naturally, on the wedding day, this was one of the first shots we took.

The Lawn, Rochford in Essex is where I have started my weddings for 2015, including doing a Twilight Wedding package which is all the more romantic with the candlelight and of course very challenging for a photographer.
We were very lucky with the weather for Amy and Lukes’ winter wedding, it was very bright and we braved the cold to go outside for a few garden photographs. Amy’s beautiful dress came from Precious Moments of Rayleigh and her well chosen bouquet was done by Christine of Hockley. Lukes’ suit came from Moss Bros. Amy had no qualms about having her photograph taken in the arch high above the staircase as they both do rock climbing and have no problem with heights. They spent their honeymoon snowboarding and Luke even enjoyed a helicopter drop.
What a coincidence that I should start and end my wedding photography year at the same place – Channels Golf Club near Chelmsford. This was where Amy and Nick chose to have their winter wedding reception. They had flown over from Australia where they live, to get married in Essex and celebrate their wedding with family and friends. They only had a short time to prepare but it worked as everything went like clockwork.
I recently had an amazing day with Leana and Michael in London, two days after their Stockbrook Manor wedding in Essex we decided to ‘trash the dress’!!
Michael wanted to treasure the dress but I think he had to admit that by the end of a very wet and wild day it was pretty much trashed (although I’m willing to bet it would still dry clean up pretty well)
We had a list of famous landmarks that we wanted to visit, starting with Waterloo Station under the clock, commuters were amused to find Leana and Michael dancing around them. The area just in front of the London Eye and especially the sculpture provided a great backdrop to my photography. We were moved on by a security guard at Westminster Abbey even though tourists were taking photos all around us, next was the lions at Trafalgar Square and Leana and Michael even got up onto one to sit on a paw each. Next was a black London cab to St Pauls Cathedral and the grand finale was the Tower of London where people clapped and cheered and made space for our couple to have their photographs taken in front of the fabulous poppies.
Leana and Michael agreed they had had a fabulous day and I am hoping that other brides will follow suit.

The fabulous Stock Brook Manor (formerly Country Club) was the chosen venue for Leana and Michael’s autumn wedding, with it’s avenue of trees providing a perfect setting for our wedding photography and amazing weather which was sunny, warm and totally unexpected we couldn’t go wrong.
Marianne and Colin chose to celebrate their commitment ceremony surrounded by friends and family at the Cliffs Pavilion. We had great weather which was a real bonus to our wedding photography and the estuary provided a pleasant local backdrop to our photos.
Marianne looked lovely in a pink dress which came from Barleylands, the boys suits came from Fields in Southend.

Jane and her team went to great lengths to make it a wonderful day for the happy couple, the room looked amazing with attention to detail and the cake in front of the mirror providing the final touch.

Tracy and Mark had good weather for their wedding at St Andrews Church in Hornchurch, Essex, followed by the reception at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood. The church was beautiful and unusually had great light which really helped with our wedding photography, we took most of the wedding pictures in the grounds which were very suited for the purpose.
Tracy looked lovely in a dress from Special Occasions, the boys suits were from Moss Bros and the bridesmaids dresses were from good old BHS. The gorgeous old wedding car came from Arrow Vintage cars.
Kayleigh & James celebrated their wedding at St Nicholas’ Church in Laindon, Essex – then it was on to Sir Henry’s in Aveley, South Ockenden for the reception.

Recently I did a wedding at the fabulous Leez Priory, what an amazing venue with 40 acres of grounds, gardens, lakes and a sweeping driveway to do the wedding photographs in. Louise and Paul were able to have their wedding ceremony outside as the weather was fine.
Louise wore a stunning dress from Turner & Pennell, literally hundreds of tiny lace flowers adorned the bodice. It was a pleasure to work with the lovely Alison from Turner & Pennell, I didn’t realise they did a dressing service so it was great for Louise to have someone there to give a hand and take some of the pressure off. It was a pleasure to do Iwona and Jonathan’s wedding, their chosen venue was the Park Inn Palace, ideally placed for views out over the estuary. The arty walls added colour to my wedding photography and made an interesting backdrop and seemed appropriate for what was to be a really fun day. The staff at the Park Inn Palace were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, food was lovely and service was fantastic, a big thank you goes to Ewa for co-ordinating everything.

St Mary the Virgin church in South Benfleet was where Kayla and Louis got married, this fabulous old church was full of flowers as they had just had a flower festival this of course really contributed to our wedding photography and was a real bonus for the couple.

St Clement’s church in Leigh on Sea was where Rosie and Peter took their marriage vows, they both looked stunning, Rosie wore a gorgeous figure hugging dress from Bellisima in South Woodham Ferrers, and Peter wore a fab blue suit from Anthony’s in Billericay Essex. Folk gathered outside to see the happy couple set off in a VW camper van which took them to the fabulous Red Brick Barn ~ Sutton Hall in Shopland Road, Rochford.
We made the most of the weather and the beautful grounds for the wedding photography. The marquee looked amazing and was festooned with country flowers and bunting, jars with tea lights and jugs of Pimms set the scene and Rosies’ sister made the beautiful cake.
Kim and Gareth chose to get married at the fabulous Cooling Castle Barn in Kent. the sun was in and out all day and we had some rain but still managed to get lovely wedding photos of our couple.

Sue & Graham celebrated their summer wedding amongst family at Maison Talbooth in Dedham, Essex then took the very short journey along the tree lined roads to the next chosen venue – Le Talbooth! after some amazing wedding photos were taken in the splendid surroundings we left them enjoying wedding breakfast with family & friends.
Rain did not stop play for the wedding of Gemma to Ben which took place at St Andrews Church, Rochford with the reception held at The Lawn also in Rochford.
The Lawn is looking really beautiful at the moment, the flowers are in full bloom and the gardens provided a fabulous back drop for our wedding photography. The table settings in the orangery were wonderful as always, Flowers and Sparkle from Sevenoaks in Kent did a fabulous job of the table arrangements and Gemma’s and bridesmaids bouquets.

Kate and Nick got married at the ever popular Rayleigh Club, the weather was perfect. Kate looked lovely in her wedding dress which was from Chantilly Lace, the bridesmaids wore taupe dresses with sparkly detail, also from Chantilly Lace. The boys suits were from Matalan and waistcoat from Moss Bross. The balloons and centrepieces were by Lisa Gatehouse from Balloons, Butterflies & Bows based in Hullbridge. Our toastmaster for the day is also based in Hullbridge and that was John Richard.
